Rubber Wall Damper

The recent earthquakes, which happened in Sabah in June 2016,have indicated that it is essential to improve stability and strength of buildings in Malaysia for seismic loads. The Rubber Wall Damper is a new device for use in buildings in order to protect structures against any type of vibration such as earthquake, wind, flood, explosion and tsunami, which is innovated and fabricated in Universiti Putra Malaysia.

This device is made by steel and high damping Malaysian rubber and application of Wall Damper in structure is by replacing the walls inside the frame’s structure and fixed it to the top and bottom beam by using of bolts.
